🆚Battles

Compete, Predict & Win

The Battles menu lets you test your music instincts by predicting the winners across different battle types. Every battle is powered by real Spotify streaming data, meaning the results reflect actual listening trends. Pick your favorite artists, tracks, or albums, place your bets, and climb the leaderboards!

Exploring Battles

When you enter the Battles menu, you'll find different types of competitions, each with its own strategy and rewards:

1

Hypeboard Battles

Predict which artist will climb to #1 on the Global Artists Hypeboard. These battles track artists' Hype by aggregating data from streaming platforms like Spotify and social media like TikTok & Instagram to a single Hypemeter score! Every engagement counts!

2

1vs1 Battles

A head-to-head showdown between two artists. The winner is determined by the same Hypemeter score used in Hypeboards: the artist with higher Hypemeter by the end of battle period wins.

3

Rise or Fall Battles (Coming Soon!)

Will an artist move higher or lower in the Hypeboard rankings? Predict the trend and bet on their rise or fall.

Battle Lifecycle

Each battle on dripit follows a structured progression, moving through different phases as bets are placed, results are gathered, and winners are determined. Below is a breakdown of how a battle evolves over time:

1

Open for Bets (January 25 - January 31)

At this stage, the battle is open for predictions, and users can place their bets. Odds are dynamically adjusted based on the amount staked on each artist.

2

Waiting for Results (February 1 - February 29)

Once the betting period ends, the battle moves into the Waiting for Results phase. The match is now live, meaning real-world streaming data is being tracked to determine the winner.

3

Resolved (March 1 - onward)

After the battle period ends, results are finalized, and the status changes to Resolved. The winning artist is displayed, and users can check whether they won or lost their bet.

4

Claiming Winnings

Users who won their bets can now claim their rewards. This can be done through:

  • The battle page

  • The battles list

  • The profile page

How Are Odds Calculated?

Understanding how odds work in dripit battles is key to making informed predictions and maximizing potential winnings. The prize pool is fully distributed among the winners, based on how much they staked relative to the total bets on their side.

Example Battle: Artist A vs Artist B

1

Battle is Created

  • The battle creator places $10 on Artist A.

  • User 1 places $20 on Artist B.

  • Users 2, 3, 4, and 5 each place $5 on Artist A.

2

Betting Period Ends

The total prize pool is determined:

  • $30 on Artist A ($10 from the creator + $5 x 4 users)

  • $20 on Artist B (only User 1)

3

How Winnings Are Distributed

  • Scenario 1: Artist B Wins Since Artist B wins, all the money placed on Artist A ($30) is distributed to User 1, as they were the only bettor on B.

    • User 1 wins +$30

  • Scenario 2: Artist A Wins

Since Artist A wins, the $20 staked on Artist B is distributed among those who bet on Artist A.

Each winner receives a percentage of the losing side’s total stake ($20), proportional to their bet size.

    • Battle Creator’s profit: $10/$30 * $20 = $6.66 (since they contributed $10 out of $30 on Artist A)

    • Users 2, 3, 4, and 5 each profit: $5/30 * 20 = $3.33 (since each contributed $5 out of $30 on Artist A)

4

Platform Fees

Fees are applied to every battle before winnings are distributed:

  • 5% platform fee → dripit takes a 5% cut from the total prize pool as a service fee.

  • 1% creator incentive (for 1vs1 & Rise or Fall Battles) → The battle creator earns 1% of the total prize pool as a reward for initiating the battle.

These deductions are automatically applied before payouts are made.

This system ensures fair distribution of winnings while rewarding battle creators and maintaining the platform.
